PAWTUCKET -- City and state fire inspectors shut down the City Nights Dinner
Theatre, 27 Exchange St,, after an inspection Saturday.
Battalion Chief Ronald Doire confirmed that the establishment was shut down, but
could not give further details into why the theater raised concerns.
"Our fire inspectors and state fire marshals were there Saturday afternoon and
City Nights has been closed down for the time being," he said Sunday.
Doire also said that the Elks Club lodge was not closed.
City Nights is located on the second floor of the Elks Club building.
According to the City Nights Web site, the theater’s next scheduled show is for
March 21.
Doire could not confirm how long it would take for the theater to reopen.
He also said that the city’s fire marshal shut down Club Macondo, 242 Middle
St., on Saturday.
Doire said fire inspectors are in the process of inspecting all of the city’s
liquor-licensed business to check for fire code violations in the wake of the
deadly fire at The Station nightclub in West Warwick last month.
